1. We keep our promise
This is our number one value! Residents choose to change their lifestyle and move to our residences based on our promise of consistently high-quality service, food, fun, companionship, support, security, mobility, respect, general warmth and caring. We keep this promise every day and all day! The residents trust us and we won’t let them down.
2. We listen
We really do listen to the residents. We serve them and they need us to make their lives as comfortable and fulfilling as possible. We make a habit of stopping to listen and do everything we can for the residents. Listening applies to our PARC team colleagues as well.
3. We waste less
The residents grew up in a less wasteful society. Waste costs money which the residents ultimately pay for. Thus waste hurts the residents financially and shows a lack of respect for them. Waste also damages our environment putting the comfort of our future and our children’s future in peril. Less waste begets more success, both financially and environmentally.
4. We build community
Our workplace is a community; it embraces residents, employees, and neighbours. It exists within a dynamic and vibrant neighbourhood, which we support through thoughtful sponsorships and outreach. We value the neighbourhoods residents call their own and do our part to keep these communities great places to live. This raises our reputation and builds trust.
5. We make it fun
A positive attitude promotes laughter and spontaneity, lifting everybody’s spirits. It makes our day go by quickly and lightens the step of the residents. Fun is infectious and spreads to the people around us. Laughter promotes health and healing. We seek the fun factor in our decisions.

We look out for each other, the resident, and their families. Our workplaces are safe and secure environments both physically and emotionally. This means that our teams and the residents live and work in a safe, respectful and inclusive environment. Residents know they are cared for and protected. Being accepted in the community and knowing you belong is powerful.
7. We appreciate each other and all we have
We appreciate the expertise and different viewpoints each of us bring to the team. We support one another in meeting our common goals and team work empowers us to achieve extraordinary things. The residents have experienced full lives and have so much to offer – we show them our appreciation and support.

The world around us keeps changing and so must we. How can we improve each task we do? How can we better keep the promise to the residents, make it more fun, waste less, challenge our thinking, grow our horizon and fulfill our highest potential at each retirement residence?
