Why work at PARC?
We are experts in senior living and are driven to create positive experiences for our residents, people and community.
Our Founder and Chairman, Rainer Müller has decades of experience in retirement living, health and wellness, and housing. He has created a company made up of caring and dedicated people who share a passion for helping seniors live their lives to the fullest.
Our mission is to ensure our residents truly enjoy and pursue an active, enriched lifestyle in our supportive, safe and inspiring retirement residences.
To fulfill our mission, we operate as a company grounded in economic, social and environmental sustainability. This means that we,
- Enrich the lives of seniors so they can thrive and live independently.
- Compensate our employees with a wage that meets the needs of daily living and provides some discretionary income. We’re proud to be the first retirement company in BC to become Living Wage Certified.
- Contribute to the well-being of the local community by fostering connections and supporting programs that engage our residents and attract independent seniors in our local neighbourhoods.
- Implement sustainability practices and green building practices that reduce energy use, greenhouse gases, water and wasteful lighting.

A future in the senior industry is a promising one
The growing population of seniors in BC and Canada overall, combined with the expected growth rate of independent living options make a career in the senior industry a smart choice.
The Statistics Canada reports that BC’s population will continue to grow substantially over the next 25 years, with the proportion of the population 65+ expected to reach between 24 to 27%. The increase in the share of seniors in Canada will be most pronounced between the years 2013 and 2030 (the period in which Baby Boomers will reach 65+).
The intersection between the hospitality sector and the senior living industry is also becoming more relevant than ever, creating new opportunities for hospitality workers to seek new challenges while working in a compassionate environment. In fact, more and more former hospitality leaders are making their mark in the senior living industry by applying innovations from the hospitality sector in operations, development and design (read “A new wave of hospitality innovation hits senior living” via Senior Housing News)
With all this in mind, a career in the senior industry is one poised for growth and opportunity.
