Cristalina PARC Celebrates Its First Year

When Cristalina PARC opened its doors last June in Kelowna, it redefined what independent retirement living could look like in BC’s Okanagan region.

Since then, our newest residence has evolved into a vibrant community where wellness, connection and lakeside living come together to create a healthy and enriching lifestyle for our residents.

As Cristalina marks its first anniversary, we’re taking a moment to reflect on what’s taken root, and what’s ahead for this blossoming community.

A year of growth, connection and community support

Like all PARC communities, Cristalina was designed to support health, well-being and social connection. But the nine-storey residence has gone well beyond these achievements, offering Okanagan seniors more than just modern suites and lake views – it has introduced a whole new way to make the most of their golden years.

Since opening its doors on June 28, 2024, Cristalina has experienced a remarkable first year of growth. The journey began with the warm welcome of our very first two residents, who helped to set the tone for our new neighbourhood.

Just days later, on July 1, we hosted our inaugural in-house resident event – a Canada Day BBQ that brought new residents and their families together to celebrate not just the holiday, but the beginning of something special. It was the first of many gatherings designed to spark connection and create a true sense of home.

A few months later, Cristalina held its official grand opening celebration on September 13. With a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by Kelowna’s Mayor, Tom Dyas, and a lively reception to follow, the event welcomed community members, future residents and friends of PARC to witness the vision come to life.

By October 31, our commitment to sustainability was formally recognized when Cristalina achieved LEED^® Gold Certification – underscoring our dedication to responsible, energy-efficient living.

By spring 2025, Cristalina PARC was 50% full with a lively group of spirited residents who didn’t hesitate to share their enticing new lifestyle with friends and family.

At the same time, Cristalina began establishing deep ties within the community, sponsoring 13 local organizations and contributing over $40,000 in support – an impact that has grown in 2025 with sponsorships expanding to approximately 15 organizations.

Throughout it all, Cristalina has become an active hub of engagement. In 2025, we’ve hosted or supported nearly 30 events for residents, prospective residents and local partners – a true testament to the energy and spirit that defines life at Cristalina PARC. And we’re just getting started!
