For Maria Alviz, wellness begins with trust, connection and truly listening.

Maria brings a deep foundation in nursing, nutrition and compassionate care to her role as Wellness Consultant at Cedar Springs PARC. She began her education in the Philippines, where she studied nursing and nutrition, and continued her professional journey after immigrating to Vancouver. Here she augmented her training by completing both her Nursing Assistant Certificate and Practical Nursing Diploma at Vancouver Community College. 

With many years of hands-on experience, Maria is known for her strong nursing assessments, sound judgment and ability to anticipate and manage high-risk situations. Just as importantly, she has a natural ability to connect with people, communicate clearly and build trust quickly – and takes pride in being a trusted presence and an advocate for residents’ total well-being.

Outside of work, Maria enjoys spending time with her granddaughter, staying active through workouts and walks, and connecting with friends. She also loves to travel whenever she can, and remains open to new learning and experiences, both personally and professionally.
