Resident dining with family in the PARC Family Eatery

With the COVID-19 pandemic limiting visitations at retirement communities, PARC had to get innovative keeping residents socially engaged and connected – while also maintaining our COVID-free environment. And we’re proud to say we’ve succeeded! Our latest innovation is the PARC Family Eatery, a brand-new twist on dining out— a place where residents and families can connect while sharing a chef-prepared meal in a warm and inspiring space

PARC’s creative response to the social challenges of COVID began with our PARC Family Meetup Centres. These pod-like portables, with dividers inside, allow safe face-to-face visits between residents and their guests. In the summer months, we also introduced al fresco dining, so that residents could enjoy meals with their loved ones out in the open air, with physical distancing in place.

Now, PARC has done it again, with the PARC Family Eatery. As the holidays approach and colder weather is upon us, this warm and inviting space gives West and North Vancouver PARC residents a great way to visit guests face to face and maintain family connections – which is so important now that socializing outdoors is no longer a comfortable option.

You’ll find the Eatery tucked into the base of the Westerleigh PARC building, offering fresh, seasonal fare prepared and served by the Westerleigh Culinary Team, in sync with COVID-19 safety and health guidelines. Other safety measures include: Food menus printed and discarded after use and laminated beverage menus that can be sanitized after each use. The bright and modern dining room was purpose-designed to allow for safety and physical distancing, with seven tables, and separate entrances for residents and their visiting families.

The Eatery is open five days per week with two dinner seatings: 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. It offers a rotating three-course menu, and it is fully licensed, so that diners can enjoy wine or a cocktail with their meal.

The Eatery is exclusively available to residents of PARC and their family and close friends.
