As of May 19, the B.C. government began the second phase of B.C.’s Restart Plan to reopen the economy in a phased approach to a “new normal.” However, the COVID-19 virus has not gone away, and people will continue to contract and spread the virus until a vaccine is developed and widely administered. PARC Retirement communities will continue to follow the Provincial Health Officer’s health and safety guidelines to ensure our residents are protected.

Thanks to our caring, well-trained team, PARC communities have remained COVID-19-free. As PARC continues to move forward, we have prepared a PARC Safe Choice Checklist that outlines the safest options for certain Phase 2 services that residents may wish to use. (With different businesses and services outlining their enhanced protocols and COVID-19 safety plans, PARC has modified its restrictions to account for these changes.) Above all, we want to ensure residents who decide to make a health or personal-care appointment like a haircut remain as safe as possible. We will continue to find a balance between our residents’ desire to live independently and our commitment to keeping residents and staff safe and healthy.

The checklist below details PARC’s policy on safety measures, along with important considerations to help residents make decisions about using these services.
