Rose Tkacova believes that healthy aging should be an active, lifelong pursuit – and she brings that philosophy to her work every day. A retired medical doctor with a PhD in Physiology, Rose has spent more than 35 years practicing and teaching internal and respiratory medicine in Canada and Slovakia. She has also co-authored more than 130 scientific publications.
Now, as a Wellness Consultant at Summerhill PARC, Rose draws on years of experience working with older adults through organizations that include Silver Harbour Seniors Centre and the North Shore Keep Well Society, where she co-developed a Healthy Aging for Seniors program. As a certified fitness instructor and professional health coach, she takes a practical, holistic approach to helping residents stay mobile, manage stress, make healthy lifestyle choices and maintain their independence.
Outside of PARC, Rose also teaches at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine and serves as the Executive Director of the Two Worlds Cancer Collaboration Foundation. She also makes time to enjoy hiking, skiing, swimming, bird watching, astronomy, playing piano and composing music – and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren.
