Dining and Nutrition

There’s good food, and then there’s food that’s good for you.

As we get older, our nutritional needs change. That’s why the dining options at PARC Retirement Living are designed with senior nutrition in mind. This means balanced and nutrient-dense foods everyday, prepared to your liking.

Our dining program

We’re more than happy to squash the myth of bland and boring food at retirement residences. Our talented culinary teams thrive on creating a daily array of menu choices that are full of flavour and variety.

Our Executive Chefs come from high-end hotels and restaurants and you’ll see their passion for food and hospitality come through in the delicious food they prepare everyday. Menu options don’t come down in a cookie-cutter approach from head office. At each residence, the Executive Chef and their culinary teams plan, prep and create their menu options to fit the tastes of their unique communities. Menus are designed around whole grains, fresh produce (some grown onsite in our own gardens), the right amount of protein and plenty of nutrients.

In addition to regular well-balanced foods, we’re pleased to offer PARC SMART portion-controlled entrees which are low in sodium, saturated fat and concentrated sugars.

Where to dine? The choice is yours

Start your day with a continental breakfast buffet and enjoy table service at lunch and dinner. While most meals are enjoyed in PARC’s elegant dining rooms, casual dining venues at some of our residences also provide a grab-and-go option if you’re in a hurry.

For even more choice and freedom, we’re pleased to offer flexible dining plans and multiple dining venues at select PARC retirement residences.

Private dining

Continue the tradition of ‘Sunday night dinner’ with family by reserving one of our private dining rooms and having your meal catered by our culinary team. Private family rooms can also be booked for special events. Many of our residents have reserved the private dining room to host showers, birthday parties and anniversary celebrations.

Cook just like you did at home

If you love to cook, moving into a retirement residence doesn’t mean that you have to hang up your apron. Most of our kitchenettes feature two-top burners while a select number of our suites at certain residences offer the choice of full-sized kitchens with a wall oven. Make a quick and simple meal in your suite; all our residences are close to grocery stores, which makes picking up ingredients a snap.

Passionate hobby bakers can still fulfill their love for baking in our communal kitchens. And if you’re used to gathering everyone in for family dinner, some of our residences have private family rooms with a full-sized kitchen where you can cook with your family, just like you used to at home.
